Emergency crews in Denton have found a body after a man was reportedly swept away in a storm canal system early Saturday morning.
According to Orlando Hinojosa, City of Denton spokesman, a police officer was flagged down regarding a man and woman in the canal at East McKinney Street and North Bell Avenue.
A woman, identified as Teresa Kelly, was rescued from the water near the MLK Jr. Recreation Center on Wilson Street. She was taken to Denton Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.
Just before 10:30 a.m., Denton Fire Department officials found a man's body in the canal near Loop 288.
His identity has not been released.
