$1 Million in Furniture Given Away With Aggies Win

Texas A&M's big win over South Carolina Thursday night wasn't just great for Aggie fans -- it was great for some customers of the Ashley Furniture Homestore in Central Texas.

The College Station store ran a promotion that would cover the cost of purchases made by customers if the Aggie football team beat the Gamecocks by more than 10 points.

The Aggies, led by Southlake product Kenny Hill, won by 24 points.

The end result was that furniture bought by more than 600 people, worth around $1 million, was now free -- or at least covered by the cost of an insurance policy bought by the retailer to insure the marketing campaign.

"We felt that from the beginning it was going to be a good game and A&M came out very strong, very powerful, scoring in the first drive. It was very exciting. A lot of excitement, a lot of craziness," said Gabe Gonzalez, general manager of the Ashley Furniture Homestore in College Station.
