1 Man Killed, 1 Wounded in Fight: Dallas Police

Gov. David Paterson signed a bill this morning that bans authorities from compiling the names and addresses of the hundreds of thousands of innocent people who are detained by police each year in stop-and-frisks but are not arrested.

Dallas police are seeking a suspect after one man was fatally shot and another was wounded during an argument in a parking lot outside a bar.

Sr. Cpl. Kevin Janse says gunfire broke out around 2 a.m. Thursday.

Investigators are trying to determine what led to the argument that started inside a bar, then the individuals moved outside.

Police say one of the suspects went to a vehicle, retrieved a gun from the trunk and opened fire. Police say they have a description of the suspect being sought.

The Dallas County Medical Examiner's Office identified the man who was transported to a hospital and died as 32-year-old Reyes Cordoso of Dallas.

Police say the wounded man has non-life threatening injuries. His name was not immediately released.
