Dallas police said they responded to a shooting call in the 3300 block of South Vernon Avenue just after midnight and found 33-year-old David Sanchez dead.

Another shooting victim, a 31-year-old Louis Serna, was transported to Methodist University Medical Center. He was last listed in critical condition.

Investigators said that Cortez Bowser, who knew both victims, was invited into the apartment. Bowser went into the bathroom, exited a short time later and shot Serna and Sanchez, police said.

Later that afternoon, Dallas police said they arrested Bowser for an unrelated felony warrant for domestic violence in Garland.

Bowser was transported to the Dallas County jail and charged with the outstanding warrant and aggravated assault. His bond was set at $150,000.
