1 Arrested, Second Man Sought in Robbery Spree

Police have one man in custody and are searching for a second man after a series of robberies across North Texas early Thursday.

It started about 9 a.m. when two men walked into an Aldi on the 2900 block of North Beltline in Irving and demanded money at gunpoint.

After taking money, the two then went to another supermarket a block away, a PNL Superstore, where police say the scene repeated itself.

NBC 5 obtained exclusive video of that heist. In the video, an armed robber is seen going behind the counter and handing the clerk a bag. This is happening as other customers and employees look on.

Police don't believe the others knew what was going on at the time.

Police then believe the pair headed to Grand Prairie, where a clothing store near West Interstate 20 was held up in similar style.

Then, the pair, police believe, headed to Lewisville where they held up another small business on Bellaire Boulevard.

A nearby neighboring business owner saw the aftermath.

"I call for the police. On the phone of the lady, she was very, very scared," said Beto Lopez.

Police said the armed man seen in the surveillance video was arrested about 8 p.m. Thursday, and the other man remains on the run.
