Trimble Tech Loses Another Student-Athlete in Car Crash

A third student from Fort Worth's Trimble Tech High School has died.

On Tuesday afternoon, students learned that soccer player Andres Macias, 16, was killed early Sunday morning in a car crash.

Macias was pronounced dead at about 2 a.m. Sunday after he was thrown from his car as it rolled over on northbound East Loop 820.

Macias' parents were not notified of his death until about 2:45 p.m. Tuesday when the Medical Examiner's office was finally able to reach them, according to the Star-Telegram.

The paper reported dozens of students rushed to Macias' home upon hearing the news.

Funeral arrangements for Macias have not yet been released.

On Dec. 3, 16-year-old baseball standout Eric Trevino was killed in a car crash during his lunch break that also injured another student.  Earlier in the year, senior Christopher Fonseca, 17, drowned in Benbrook Lake.
