A group of kids are using their creative juices to help out a North Texas lake.
The children are doing a month long summer camp called Thriving Minds at the Bath House at White Rock Lake. At the end of the camp, all their artwork will be auctioned off to raise money for the organization friends of the bath house.
This camp is a part of the Super Bowl learning program Slant 45. They're working with the education based non-profit Big Thought to get 20,000 elementary students to do 45,000 hours of community service leading up to the big game in February.
The kids have even found another way to help out that was never planned by tending to the grounds.
"We pick up after other people that litter around the lake, which we do not like," said 9 year-old Janeth Carranza, a Thriving Minds student.
The children's artwork will be auctioned off on June 1.
