Texas Motor Speedway president Eddie Gossage says his cancer is in "complete remission" and that he's feeling better than ever.

Gossage hasn't disclosed the type of cancer he has, which was diagnosed last fall.

A showman known for his enthusiasm and promotional stunts, Gossage took a leave of absence in June after the IndyCar Series race at the track. He returned to work in August and made his first public appearance Thursday with local media to promote the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup and the track's next race Nov. 8.

The 50-year-old Gossage was smiling and at ease as usual, and wore a Sprint Cup cap on his mostly bald head resulting from chemotherapy.
