A shotgun-wielding, slang-slinging robber received only an offer of food from his confused coed victims.

On Wednesday evening, an armed man forced his way into the apartment of three unsuspecting University of North Texas students and demanded that the women give him some "bread."

The women, who are all around the age of 21, had no idea that the man was using the word "bread" as slang for money and offered him food.

"We thought he was hungry" one of the victims said.

But when he started swinging the pump shotgun around and jacking the chamber they realized he was serious and that he wanted money.

"It was one of the most terrifying experiences of my life" one of the victims said.

The students gave the man what they had and he then fled the scene with only around $25 in cash and a few debit/credit cards for the take.

One of the victims said that she and her roommates have learned a lot from this episode and that they will not be opening the door to strangers in the future.

"I looked out the peephole and there was nobody there ... but I thought it was a friend that was hiding and just playing a trick on us," one of the victims said.

The victim's described the man as black, in his early 20s and between 5 foot 6 inches and 5 foot 8 inches tall.  The man was clean shaven, had a clear complexion, a round face and had short to no hair on his head. The man was wearing a baggy, black pullover sweatshirt with a front pouch pocket, dark denim long shorts or pants and black tennis shoes. The sweatshirt had an African or Jamaican design on the chest with yellow, red, and white colors in it.

Composite drawings of the man issued by the Denton Police Department are to the left.

So far, investigators have not made any arrests or named any suspects in connection with the armed robbery.
