A standoff with a barricaded man has ended peacefully.

Shortly after noon, a man that had been barricaded inside a home on the 500 block of Avenue L surrendered to police.  Shortly before that, three children walked out of the home unharmed.

Dallas police said 26-year-old Jerry Wagner was taken into custody after a standoff that lasted more than two hours.

At about 8:30 a.m.,  DISD police observed a burglary of a motor vehicle suspect at nearby Roosevelt High School. DISD officers attempted to apprehend the suspect, but he fled on foot.

Officers then went to the home on the 500 block of Avenue L, where the suspect was believed to be hiding.  After no one answered the door, and with small children seen inside, the Dallas SWAT team was called out to assist.
