Garland Police are investigating an apparent murder-suicide after a jogger found the bodies of a man and his 10-year-old son by a creek at One Eleven Ranch.

Police have identified the two as 37-year-old Matthew Knapp and his son Brody. Both had been shot. Police say they found a pistol near Matthew Knapp's body.

The two were last seen Thursday night around 8:30 at their church in Garland. Around 1:00 a.m. Friday, police said Knapp's wife reported the two missing.

Garland Police Officer Joe Harn said investigators are looking into a motive. No suicide note was found at the scene. Police do not know if there was a family argument Thursday night, or what events might have led to the incident.
