A man suspected of mail and identity theft was arrested Sunday morning outside a bank in the 3900 block of Glade Road, Colleyville police said.

Police said Clarence Kind, Jr. was acting suspiciously near an ATM machine and immediately jumped into his vehicle when an officer approached him.

When questioned by the officer, police said Kind stated he had no ID on him but later produced an Alabama driver's license. As the officer stood near the vehicle, he observed a large quantity of mail, some opened and some unopened, along with a screwdriver lying in the passenger's side of Kind's vehicle, police said.

Kind was arrested after the officer found that he had outstanding warrants from Euless police.

The mail inside Kind's vehicle was addressed to several different people at the same apartment complex in Euless, police said. Colleyville police contacted Euless investigators, who found numerous mail boxes broken into at the apartment complex listed on the letters.

Police said they also found several credit cards that were not in Kind's name, approximately four grams of crystal methamphetamine and scales used to weigh drugs.

Colleyvile police said an investigation is under way. At this point, Kind faces charges of outstanding Euless police traffic warrants and possession of a controlled substance.
