Parents, 4-Year-Old Child Die In House Fire

A husband, wife and their 4-year-old son are dead after a fire erupted in the first floor study of their two-story Northeast Dallas home.

Firefighters arrived at the house in the 9200 block of Windy Crest to find flames so intense that firefighters could not enter through the front door. They had to attack the blaze through the back of the home, said Dallas Fire-Rescue spokesman Jason Evans.

Evans said once the exterior flames were contained firefighters entered the home and found Michael Levine, 47, his wife Romina Mulloy-Bossio, 35, and their son Ariel, 4, all unresponsive inside a second-floor bedroom.

Neighbors watched helplessly as firefighters tried to revive the family with CPR. All three were transported to hospitals, where they were pronounced dead a short time later.

Residents in the close-knit neighborhood were stunned

"It's just shocking because you realize how quickly life can change," said Lynett Hageman.

Family members comforted one another in the front yard.

"I thought it was a fire. You know you go and see charred stuff. That was an inferno," Mulloy-Bossio's uncle Denny Mulloy said as he fought back tears. "Makes you ask, 'Why?' You know? Why would somebody like that have to go through that?"
