No Flights Affected by White Powder Scare

No flights are affected by a white powder scare at Love Field Friday morning, according to an airport spokesman.

Some white powder was discovered in an envelope in a remote area on the east concourse of Love Field around 9:30 a.m. Friday, officials said.

By 11:00 a.m., a hazardous material team from Dallas Fire-Rescue completed testing on the substance and found it was non-toxic. Crews will remain on the scene until cleanup and their investigation is complete

It wasn't immediately clear what that substance was or how it got there.

A Love Field spokesman said the area where the substance was found is not accessible to the general public, so no one flying in or out of Love Field is in any danger.

"We are not anticipating any significant evacuations; there is only a small containment zone around the immediate area," Dallas Police Lt. Andy Harvey said in an emailed statement.
