Most of Texas Under High Fire Danger
Burn bans instituted in nearly 200 counties.

Nearly 200 Texas counties are under a burn ban, as firefighters brace for another weekend of dangerous conditions.
Dry and windy weather has lead to an elevated fire danger across most of the state, particularly areas west of the Interstate 35 corridor.
All counties in NorthTexas, with the exception of Dallas, Collin, and Grayson, have outlawed outdoor burning and fireworks.
Since Jan. 22, nearly 1,500 wildfires have scorched more than 55,000 acres in Texas.
A fire Thursday afternoon north of Azle damaged two homes and another building. One woman had to be treated for smoke inhalation.
Investigators are now trying to determine what started that fire. Firefighters said any open flame, even a lit cigarette, can spark a fire.
