Dallas police are investigating the death of a man found beaten Sunday in the parking lot of a club.

Police said Marlon Alfaro was attacked and then run over with a vehicle in the parking lot of Club Secret in 1500 block of Greenville Avenue.

The 23-year-old Irving man was taken to Baylor Hospital, where he later died.

Police said they don't know whether the slaying was gang-related.

Community activist Avi Adelman said he believes an influx of hip-hop clubs is drawing gang members to the lower Greenville Avenue area.

"There are some clubs that are attracting certain gang associations," Dallas police Lt. Andrew Harvey said. "We now have our gang unit and police officers assigned out there on Lower Greenville."

Police said they are still looking for witnesses. Investigators are not releasing information on the vehicle involved.
