School may be in session, but the Fort Worth ISD estimates as many as 1,000 students did not  re-enroll this year.

As part of a program called "Prevail to Graduation" volunteers will be calling students and their parents at home next week, and going door-to-door over the weekend.

The district launched the program at three high schools last year with great success.

"Grandma walked into the school with her granddaughter by the hand and wanted to re-enroll her right then and there. They got a standing ovation," said Clint Bond, Fort Worth ISD.

This year, the progam will be expanded district wide with the help of administrators, city leaders and volunteers.
