A flaming bottle rocket came crashing through the living room window of one Dallas woman's home long after Fourth of July fireworks had subsided.

Rachel Vallery and her husband were in the living room of their Bruton Road apartment early Monday morning when they heard a loud bang followed by the sound of shattering glass only a few feet from where they were sitting.

"It sounded like gunfire, that's how loud it was. Then the glass broke and I was like, "Are you alright?'" said Vallery.

She said the rocket not only sent glass flying, but it set a stuffed animal on fire.

"It could have been me, it could have been anybody,"  Vallery said.

The rocket landed just inches from her husband who was sitting on the couch.

"We are lucky it did not hit us, I was scared," said Vallery.

When police showed up, the kids who fired off the bottle rockets had already scattered.
