Dallas demolition experts took down a former Holiday Inn Select Sunday morning.
The implosion went off without a hitch at 8:00 a.m.
The building is located on the east side of North Central Expressway nearly Royal Lane.
Highway 75 (North Central Expressway) was closed in both directions shortly before 8 a.m. between Meadow Lane and Royal Lane.
The highway was re-opened after the dust from the implosion cleared.
Spectators watched the implosion from a parking garage behind the Hotels.com building.
Crews moved in quickly to water down the debris and begin moving it away from the site, once cleared construction on a new 83-acre mixed-use development will begin.
The new development will have high-rise condominiums, luxury town homes, senior living and medical office buildings.
The development will be completed by December 2009.
