Harassment suits land Burns on dubious list

Another day, another list and this time it’s not one anybody would want to make.

A website called eBossWatch.com crunched the numbers — mostly dollar amounts associated with various harassment suits filed — and plopped Dallas Fire-Rescue Chief Eddie Burns atop the “2010 List of America's Worst Bosses," as reported yesterday in the Dallas Morning News.

According to the article, eBossWatch.com's "list was determined by a panel of six experts in workplace harassment who reviewed news reports and court documents on more than 200 bosses across the nation."

Wow, they never even met the guy or saw him in bossy action. Talk about a reputation preceding you. Not surprising, really, when a boss allows a work culture that, well, let’s not delve into the gory details but suffice it to say it involved semen in a woman’s coffee cup.

Our little area hit the bad-boss daily double, too, so hurray for us. The manager of a Grapevine Sonic Drive-In made the list for hitting on a teenage carhop.

So remember next time you’re on a job interview you’re doing a little interviewing, too.
