Animals may enjoy a day at the park, but one in Oak Cliff doesn't want any porky visitors.

Dallas is attempting to trap wild pigs that are roaming the outskirts of Kiest Park. The Friends of Oak Cliff Parks notified the city about the animals, and Animal Control has enlisted the services of a professional animal trapper.

"It was a rumor at first, but Animal Control was out here quite a bit, and people have seen signs," said James Thomas, director of the park's tennis courts. "So the trapper saw it, and evidently he feels it's for real."

Thomas said people have found droppings from the pigs.

He said he hopes the trapper will be able to catch animals in the 4-by-4-by-8 steep trap set 75 feet away from the tennis courts.

"Hopefully, he will because they can be kind of vicious I've heard," Thomas said.
