GREENVILLE SHOOTING
A shootout in Lower Greenville ended with one man dead and police searching for two men. Dallas police responded to the Char-Bar Diner on the 2100 block of Greenville Avenue early Thursday morning where they found a man who had been shot several times. The man was transported to Baylor Medical Center in Dallas where he died shortly after arrival. Police said the shooting followed an altercation between several men that broke out along a string of bars in Greenville. One of the men left the area and returned with a handgun. Police believe the man shot the victim and fled the scene with another man in an orange SUV. Police are on the hunt for the two men.
FATAL GARLAND CRASH
One man was killed in a crash along LBJ Freeway in Garland early Thursday morning. Officers arrived at La Prada and LBJ at about 2:30 a.m. to find a 1999 Honda sitting in a ditch along the northbound side of the freeway. The Honda was speeding when the driver, 22-year-old Randeep Bains, lost control and flipped on the La Prada overpass, according to police. Bains survived the wreck with minor injuries and was taken to the Garland Jail and charged with intoxication manslaughter. The passenger, 21-year-old Anthony Franklin died at the scene. Investigators haven’t determined the cause of the crash, but said that alcohol and excessive speed may have played a part.
MAN DIES AT TARRANT COUNTY DRILL SITE
A Bridgeport man died while working at a natural gas drilling site in northwest Tarrant County Wednesday. Silverio Rubio-Loredo, 25, was working at the site on the 7000 block of Gantt Access Road when he was struck in the head by moving parts of a drilling rig while working on the tower, according to the Tarrant County medical examiner. The victim’s safety line kept him from falling and an aerial team had to climb and remove his body.
ADDISON WOMAN DIES AFTER FALLING FROM GOVERNMENT TRUCK
Dallas police report a woman died late Wednesday night after falling from a U.S. government truck. At about 11 p.m., Dallas officers responded to a 911 injured person call along the 10700 block of Inwood Road in Dallas. Upon arrival, Dallas police said they found a woman dead inside a U.S. government pickup truck. Two men involved in the incident told police that the woman fell out of the rear passenger door of the truck. After the woman fell, the men picked her up and put her in the back of the truck and then looked for a hospital. The men stopped at a security hut at the gate of an exclusive sub-division to call 911. All three of the individuals involved are employees of the Veterans Administration, according to police. Police are trying to determine if the woman opened the door on her own or if she had help exiting the vehicle while it was in motion. The victim’s name has not been released. The incident originated in Addison and Addison police will continue the investigation with assistance from the Dallas Police Department.
