Here's a daily list of recent activities drawing the attention of North Texas law enforcement. List compiled on Oct. 11, 2009.

CHASE BETWEEN 2 SUVS ENDS WITH FALL DOWN EMBANKMENT
Dallas police said two vehicles that were allegedly chasing each other down a residential street fell down a 30-foot embankment into a creek in Oak Cliff on Sunday. Police said both sport utility vehicles were traveling at speeds of up to 80 mph down the 3400 block of Holliday Road when they failed to negotiate a turn. Both vehicles, which had a man and woman inside one and a woman and her two children in the other, landed in the creek upside down, investigators said. All five people were taken to a local hospital, but they were not seriously injured.

POLICE ARREST MAN SUSPECTED IN FW CAR BURGLARIES
Mineral Wells police have arrested one of two men wanted in connection with numerous car burglaries. Justin Elliot Davis, 18, and Joel Don Pool, 20, are accused of breaking into several vehicles. One of the burglary victims turned his surveillance footage over to police and printed fliers with a picture of one of the men. Joel Don Pool is now in custody.

EAST DALLAS YMCA SEES DAYTIME CAR BREAK-INS
Patrons of an East Dallas YMCA say car burglars are breaking into vehicles during the day. One patrol said two of her cars in the parking lot in the 7300 block of Gaston were broken into in less than two weeks. Area businesses say they have noticed more burglaries occurring during the day than at nighttime, when there is more security. Businesses, which aren't usually responsible for car burglaries in their parking lots, said they would like to see more of a police presence in the area to curtail the break-ins.

MAN KILLED IN DALLAS HIGHWAY CRASH
Investigators said a man was killed when he was thrown from his vehicle after a crash on U.S. 75 in Dallas early Sunday morning. Police said the man apparently lost control of his car on northbound U.S. 75 near Hall Street. The crash shut down the highway for more than an hour.
