POLICE SAY ARMED ROBBERS TARGETING DALLAS MOTELS
Dallas police said they believe the same two men are storming motels and liquor stores and demanding cash from clerks at gunpoint. All of the motels are on or near a major highway. (Read more: NBC DFW)

FUGITIVE WANTED IN FORT WORTH SLAYINGS ARRESTED IN NORTH CAROLINA
A fugitive has been arrested in North Carolina on capital murder charges in the 1989 deaths of two men who were shot while sitting at a bar in Fort Worth.  Pedro Romero was appointed a public defender Wednesday during his first court appearance in Winston-Salem. He is being held without bond at the Forsyth County Jail. (Read more:  NBC DFW

BURGLAR SHOT IN HOME BREAK-IN ATTEMPT, POLICE SAY
A suspected burglar was shot during an attempted home invasion Wednesday at an apartment complex in the 5500 hundred block of Outrider Lane in west Dallas, police said.  Police said the apartment resident and a friend caught the man during the break-in.  After the friend shot the man in the chest, he fled to the parking lot where he collapsed.  Police said he is expected to recover from his wounds and no charges are expected against the homeowner, or the friend. BEWARE OF OFFICE CREEPERS, POLICE SAY
Dallas Police say a band of criminals is sneaking into Dallas office buildings posing as employees or service personnel, and then stealing valuable belongings. (Read more: NBC DFW)

BEAUTY SUPPLY BURGLAR FORGOES CASH FOR WIGS
A thief broke into the Accessory Fair Beauty Supply located at 8068 Ferguson Road in east Dallas Wednesday morning and stole $800 worth of hair pieces, according to Dallas police records.  The thief pried open the backdoor of the vacant business next to the beauty supply store and then smashed a hole in the connected interior wall, police said. OAK LAWN RESIDENT FLEES TO ROOF DURING HOME INVASION
An Oak Lawn resident fled to the top of his roof to escape two armed intruders Wednesday. At about 7:40 a.m., two men broke into a home in the 3300 block of Hawthrone Avenue just south of Highland Park, said Dallas police Lt. Thon Overstreet. When the men went downstairs to collect the owner's belongings, the man slipped on to the roof.

FORT WORTH WOMAN FONDLED BY MAN POSING AS A POLICE OFFICER
A man posing as on officer pulled over a woman in southwest Fort Worth Tuesday night and fondled her breasts, police officials said. The woman told police the man pulled her over near the Interstate 20 and Highway 183 split in the Hulen area and frisked her. (Read more: NBC DFW)
