Cowboys Stadium Will Go From Cotton Bowl to Super Bowl

The Cotton Bowl is always a big game, and this year, it's also serving as a test run for the biggest football game of all.

The city of Arlington tested out many of the high-tech security measures it will use during the Super Bowl.

"This is our last time to do this before the big game in a big-game setting," Arlington police spokeswoman Tiara Richard said.

The Super Bowl's joint information center was fully operational, with local, state and federal planners testing communication and security systems.

"We have many groups here," Richard said. "This allows them see and touch all the systems we have in place."

Cowboys Stadium begins its transformation right after the Cotton Bowl.

Early Saturday morning, the NFL will move truckloads of equipment into the stadium's parking lots.

NBC DFW's Grant Stinchfield contributed to this report.
