Dallas police said a man stole two laptops from Dallas City Hall last month.

The security breach was captured on surveillance camera, police said.

"As this man walked out, it looks like he tipped his hat, he was that brazen," said Senior Cpl. Janice Crowther, with the Dallas Police Department. "It seemed like he was very proud of what he'd done."

The laptops were stolen from the city's Intergovernmental Services Department.

According to a Dallas city spokesperson, the department serves as a primary point of contact between the city and local, regional, state and federal levels of government.

An employee who asked not to be identified said the computers contain sensitive homeland security information.

Dallas police would only say the computers do not contain any personal information such as addresses or Social Security numbers.

"Right now, we just want those computers back," said Crowther.

The theft is the second time in less than four months someone has stolen laptops from the building.

City Hall is stepping up its security in wake of the theft. The city has installed a security keypad and a locking door on the Intergovernmental Services Department. The city has also added extra security patrols in common areas where the public has access.

According to police reports, 12 thefts were reported at City Hall this year.
