An American Eagle plane bound from Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport to Killeen landed safely after the crew reported smoke in the cockpit.

John Sutton, of the Killeen-Fort Hood Regional Airport, said no one was injured, and there apparently was no fire during Monday afternoon's incident.

American Airlines spokeswoman Andrea Huguely said Flight 3505 carried 47 passengers and three crewmembers. She said the captain reported "smoky haze" in the cockpit.

He said an in-flight emergency was declared, but the smoke dissipated shortly before the plane landed in Killeen. Those on board deplaned as normal.

Huguely said the Embraer 145 was taken out of service for an inspection.
