The Salvation Army has opened cooling stations across the metroplex to allow people to go in and get out of the heat.

With triple digits forecasted for this weekend, it is very important to stay cool.

The Salvation Army has opened 15 cooling stations across the metroplex on Friday to allow people to get out of the heat.

Along with allowing people to come in and enjoy the AC, thousands of bottles of water will be handed out to keep people hydrated.

"This is a really important work that the Salvation Army does throughout the community," said Salvation Army director of operations Blake Fetterman. "In 2011, we had 31 deaths related to heat exposure and it is for those reasons we operate these cooling centers."
