Person in Dallas Treated for Legionnaires' Disease

No other cases of Legionnaires reported near DFW

A marketing firm says a guest at a Dallas hotel attached to company offices has been treated for Legionnaires' disease.

A spokesman for SuperMedia Inc. said Wednesday that the individual, whose name hasn't been released, was treated and released from a hospital.

Andy Shane says SuperMedia, as a precaution, asked its employees to work from alternate locations during testing of the scene. Shane says no other cases of Legionnaires' disease have been reported at the complex near Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport.

Officials with DFW Airport said the case of Legionnaires' dieseas appears to be an isolated incident on leased property. There is no impact to DFW's terminals or other public areas and the water supply at the airport is safe.

Officials are not sure where the case originated. The bacterium believed responsible for Legionnaires' disease is found in soil and grows in water, such as air-conditioning ducts, storage tanks and rivers.

A message left with Aramark, which Shane says operates the hotel, was not immediately returned Wednesday.

NBC 5's Ray Villeda contributed to this report.
