Patient Safety Graded in North Texas Hospitals

More than 2,600 hospitals across the nation were graded

Medical City Dallas Hospital is the only hospital, out of 11 scored in North Texas, to receive an “A” safety grade.

Leapfrog Group, a national not-for-profit organization, published the hospital safety score report.

The organization, founded by the nation’s leading employers and private health care purchasers, evaluated more than 2,600 hospitals across the nation, rating them “A” through “F” in safety.

The grades represent the hospital’s overall performance in keeping patients safe from preventable harm and medical errors.

Experts analyzed data from the hospitals and rated them based on 26 measures, in two areas: process measures and outcome measures.
