More Cucumbers Sold in Texas Recalled

A recall covering potentially deadly cucumbers covers a new brand of cucumbers which were produced in Baja California, Mexico.

The cucumbers may be contaminated with salmonella.

The recall involves all "Fat Boy" brand cucumbers.

Last week, a similar recall involved Limited Edition Andrew and Williamson brand cucumbers.

The cucumbers were sold in 30-different states, including Texas.

The Food and Drug Administration said two people have died, one of who was a Texas woman, and more than 300 others got sick because of the outbreak.

A Texas law firm is filing a suit on behalf of a woman who died in San Diego.

The cucumbers are a dark green variety that is often called "slicer" or "American." The cucumbers shipped in black, green, red or brown colored cartons.

If you have either brand of the cucumbers, the FDA says toss them or return them where you bought them.

The Centers for Disease Control says salmonella can cause serious infections in children, older people and people who are already sick. In otherwise healthy people, it causes fever, vomiting and diarrhea.
