Lawsuit Filed Over Bad Breath

Inventor claims Dallas company stole the idea for his detection device.

A Massachusetts man claims Irving-based Kimberly-Clark stole his idea for a bad breath-detection device.

Marv Freadman said he holds a U.S. patent to an apparatus that can point out bad breath by detecting CO2 emissions that indicate the presence of bacteria, The Dallas Business Journal reported.

Freadman claims Kimberly-Clark is working on a product that also measures bad breath through the detection of gases such as sulfur and ammonia.

Freadman is seeking an injunction from the court to prevent the corporation from using the technology.

A spokesman for Kimberly-Clark told the Dallas Business Journal that the company is still reviewing the lawsuit and that the corporation does not comment on pending litigation.
