Know Your Diabetes Risk at Free Clinic Tuesday

Diabetes 360 will host the clinics at its Las Colinas and Arlington locations

Do you know your risk for diabetes? Tuesday is your chance to find out.

Diabetes 360, a specialized medical practice that provides comprehensive care for patients with diabetes, will host two events Tuesday that are open to the public -- one at its flagship location in Las Colinas, and the other at its Arlington clinic.

At both events, attendees will be able to take advantage of free diabetes screenings, including A1C tests, blood pressure screenings and body mass index measurements.

The screenings can detect an individual's risk for developing diabetes.

"Sometimes ignorance isn't bliss because we do know, for some people, having a heart attack or a stroke is the first indication that they have diabetes," Dr. Rosemarie Lajara said.

Screenings will also be available to the public at the Plano location on Tuesday, even though an event will not be held here.

Terry Hess, 69, of Las Colinas, said knowledge has been power in the management of his diabetes.

"The doctors told my parents that I would be lucky to live to be 50 years old and now I am 69," Hess said.

Diabetes 360 is a one-stop shop for patients, with the specialized clinicians, educators, tests and resources they need, all in one location.
