Kids Allowed to Sip Alcohol More Likely to Drink in High School: Report

A new study claims children who are allowed to sip alcohol may be more likely to start drinking by high school.

Researchers at Brown University followed nearly 600 kids through their middle school years.'

Those who had 'sipped' alcohol, usually with a parent's permission, by sixth grade Were five times more likely to have consumed a full drink by the beginning of high school.

They were four times more likely to have binged or been drunk.

Experts say while there are many factors that lead to underage drinking, little tastes of alcohol may send young kids a mixed message.
