Health System Opens Employee Clinic at Headquarters

An Irving-based Catholic health system has opened an on-premise clinic for its employees.

Christus Health, a not-for-profit, faith-based health system that relocated to Las Colinas last year, opened the employee clinic on Thursday.

Tamie Snow said the organization's focus on health and wellness on employees like herself is appreciated.

"The convenience of being able to come to work and have this available is wonderful," she said. "It'll take away from my time away from work as much because it's so conveniently located right here on the property."

Employees began moving into the organization's headquarters six months ago. It includes a gym, a cafe and lots of open space for co-workers to mingle.

"It gave us a unique opportunity to combine from three or four different buildings in three cities and build a new culture and really start from scratch," said Linda McClung, senior vice president and chief administrative officer.

McClung said she hoped new employees who join the team in the coming months will also appreciate the Christus Health's care in providing workers with the best services possible.

"We believe that if we continue to work hard and do the right thing with the right motives, we'll be blessed and have to give thanks for that blessing. And we do that every day," she said.

Christus Health has brought more than 600 jobs to North Texas since moving into its headquarters in Las Colinas in August. The number of jobs is expected to double by this summer.

"We're hiring people in all kinds of areas -- administrative, information management, accounts payable, accounting," McClung said.

Christus Health has 50 hospitals and facilities throughout the United States and Mexico. The company announced on Thursday that it would soon have a presence in Santiago, Chile.
