Crews Continue Disinfecting Ebola Patient's Family's Apartment

Hazmat crews are completing the second phase of cleaning the apartment where a Dallas Ebola patient staid while symptomatic, officials said.

Crews have taken everything out of the apartment where Thomas Eric Duncan visited, officials said, including the carpet. Crews filled about 125 bins with those items.

City leaders said the apartment will now be disinfected.

Duncan was recently listed as being in critical condition at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital. He was listed in serious condition a few days ago.

The doctors treating Duncan have not yet discussed how they're treating him. Officials said experimental drugs are available, but Duncan's family must consent to use them.

Family members told NBC 5 that Duncan is now attached to a respirator and dialysis machine. They said they have asked doctors to talk to him and encourage him by phone, and some of them are currently driving to Dallas from North Carolina to visit him.
