Carrollton Opens West Nile Hotline

Automated line alerts residents to spraying, spread of the disease

With more and more cases of West Nile virus in humans being reported every day, the city of Carrollton has opened a hotline for residents.

The automated line provides the most up-to-date information on the disease as well as what is being done to curtail the spread in Carrollton.

The hotline will be updated after 7 p.m. Friday nights with any locations that are to be sprayed the next day.

Carrollton said they typically spray for mosquitoes in the middle of the day and that the spray typically dissipates within 5 to 10 minutes.
