Bankers Bust Breast Cancer

Bankers honor a breast cancer survivor with a sea of pink

A local bank has gone pink in honor of breast cancer awareness month. Point Bank has covered all nine of their branches across North Texas in pink to remind women to do self breast exams and to get regular check ups.

The idea was created to honor fellow employee and breast cancer survivor, Robin Cordry. Five years ago, Cordry was diagnosed with cancer while she was pregnant with her second child.

"You can't take life and death in one hand and make sense of it. It was a frightening experience," Cordry said.

After a mastectomy and chemo, Cordry was cleared of the disease and gave birth to a healthy baby boy.

Bank employees hope this not-so-subtle reminder will be just what women need.

"If we can just make one person aware and just go and have a checkup and find breast cancer at an early stage where she can save herself for her and her family, this is all worth it," said Point Bank executive Mac McCuiston.

Cordry said she’s been cleared of cancer, but the disease got into her lymph system so she still has to get regular check ups.
