A fourth case of West Nile virus has been confirmed in Allen.

According to the city, Collin County Health Care Services confirmed the case Friday for a patient living outside the Allen city limits with an Allen mailing address.

Due to patient confidentiality, no further information is expected to be released.

The city of Allen is currently treating mosquitoes in stagnant pools, creeks and detention ponds with larvicide.

Further information regarding West Nile virus and mosquito control precautions in Collin County is available on the Collin County Health Care Services web page.
