A second person has died in Collin County after contracting West Nile virus.
The death was the 29th reported in North Texas this summer until Tarrant County reported their 7th Wednesday afternoon. The total number of people killed after contracting the virus now stands at 30.
The victim's age and zip code are not yet known. Due to patient confidentiality, no further information is expected to be released.
As of Sept. 12, 70 people have been sickened by West Nile virus in Collin County. More than 820 have contracted the virus across North Texas this summer.
