While tree recycling is well-known, holiday card recycling is another possibility for going green after the holidays.

Mosaic, a Carrollton-based nonprofit, is asking for holiday cards and letters to shred or use to redecorate for next Christmas.

Cards can be dropped off at its Carrollton office at 2245 Midway Road, Suite 300, weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Mosaic is assists people with developmental disabilities through day programs and a document-destruction business.

St. Jude's is another option for recycling cards. It accepts cards year-round in a program that started more than 30 years ago. Recycled cards can be mailed to the following address:

St. Jude’s Ranch for Children
Recycled Card Program
100 St. Jude’s Street
Boulder City, NV 89005
