McDonald's is coming to Celina!

While it may not be news in your neighborhood, it's huge for the city of 5,500 people, which is poised to grow by leaps and bounds over the next decade.

The arrival of the golden arches will mark the first major corporate brand to locate in Celina.

Celina city officials have been working to lure McDonald's since 2008.

Why? Wherever the restaurant franchise goes, other businesses tend to follow.

McDonald's is known for its market analysis and ability to identify new, emerging communities and get in on the ground floor.

The restaurant chain will break ground just south of Brookshire's grocery store on State Highway 289 in the next few weeks.

The fast food restaurant's opening is tentatively set for October.
