Southwest Wants to Add Larger 737s

Southwest Airlines says they are considering adding larger Boeing 737s to their fleet.

The planes, which cost about $81 each, would have 40 extra seats and help the airline make fewer daily flights, the Dallas Morning News reports.

The airline adds that the move would also cut costs for passengers on longer flights.

Southwest must first reach an agreement with the unions for the pilots and flight attendants before finalizing the purchase.
