Southwest International Concourse Opens at Hobby Airport

Southwest Airlines has opened a more than $150 million concourse at Houston's Hobby Airport (HOU) as part of new international service.

Southwest's five-gate concourse was unveiled Thursday, with flights planned between Houston and cities in Mexico, Costa Rica and Belize.

A mariachi band was part of the celebration as Dallas-based Southwest expands its schedule from Houston.

Airport officials say a 3,000-space parking garage near the new terminal should open by Thanksgiving.
