Southwest Adds Nonstop Flights Between Dallas, Bay Area

Flights to begin service Jan. 6, 2015

Southwest Airlines is adding more nonstop flights between Love Field and the Bay Area.

The Dallas-based airline made the announcement Monday, saying they'll fly to both San Francisco International Airport and Oakland International Airport beginning Jan. 6, 2015 with introductory fares as low as $119 each way for tickets booked by Friday for travel between Jan. 6, 2015 and March 6, 2015.

"We continue to add new destinations, with ever-renewed excitement, to give our longtime customers in Dallas more flight options that show how we value their time," said Gary Kelly, chairman, president and chief executive officer said in a statement.  "We're linking the Bay Area to North Texas with the value, convenience, and customer service that only Southwest Airlines can deliver to them."

Earlier this year, Southwest announced they would add nonstop service to nearly three dozen cities across the United States upon the expiration of the Wright Amendment.

The Wright Amendment expires Oct. 13. On that day, Southwest will begin nonstop service between Dallas and  Baltimore/Washington, Chicago Midway, Denver, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Orlando, and Ronald Reagan Washington National. On Nov. 2 they will add additional nonstop service to Atlanta, Ft. Lauderdale, Nashville, New York (LaGuardia), Phoenix, San Diego, Orange County/Santa Ana, and Tampa.
