The first big shopping weekend of the holiday season has come and gone, and some stores say people came ready to buy.
Allyson Wickard was one of those shoppers. She said when it comes to Christmas, she has no choice but to start early.
"We have a big family so it usually ends up being about 20 people that we have to buy for," said Wickard. "So starting early is the best way to get that done."
She was shopping at Lilly Pulitzer Sunday, a store which had a great weekend of sales.
The storeโs manager, Dylan Taylor-Smith said "we actually doubled our numbers from last year, which is absolutely wonderful."
Shoppers say itโs helpful that some stores lowered their prices overall, which is something Lilly Pulitzer did this year.
"That's a big thing, we're really happy that our company has done something to really help people," said Taylor-Smith.
Taylor-Smith said the more affordable prices kept peopleโs focus off the sales racks and on the main items.
