Irving Music Factory Will Be Ready Opening Day, Leaders Say

There's a late push to get the new Irving Music Factory ready for opening day.

A spokesman for the venue said recent rain caused some setbacks, but developers plan to add more construction workers wherever needed to make sure it's completed on time, even if that means people on-site 24 hours a day.

The developer said as many as 1,000 people are working on the site at any given time.

The project rolls out in phases, with the 8,000-seat amphitheater, operated by Live Nation, scheduled to open Aug. 31 with a show by comedian Dave Chappelle.

After that, a new restaurant opens almost every week leading up to Irving Music Factory's grand opening in December.

The whole development spans 17 acres at a price tag of $200 million.
