Gov. Perry in Town to Announce 1,500 Jobs

Jobs to support health care industry in Texas

Gov. Rick Perry is visiting North Texas Tuesday to celebrate hundreds of new jobs coming to the Metroplex.

Connextions in Irving is hiring 1,500 jobs in the state, more than half of which will be in Dallas-Fort Worth.

The company is connected to UnitedHealth Group and provides health insurance benefits and services.

Connextions is holding a job fair on Thursday to find people to fill the vacant positions.  They'll even pay up to $500 so that new hires can take the necessary courses needed to get licensed.

The job fair runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 8700 Freeport Parkway in Irving.

UnitedHealth Group currently has more than 10,600 employees in Texas and serves the health care needs of more than 3.3 million Texans.
