Genie has announced it is recalling 10,000 garage door openers sold in the US and 8,000 more in Canada following concerns about a fire hazard.

The company said Genie models Power Max 1200 and 1500, plus the Genie Pro models TriloG 1200 and 1500 are involved in the recall.

Genie said they have received four reports of control boards in the opener overheating and causing a fire hazard. No injuries have been reported due to the overheating.

The openers were sold at Lowes, Home Depot, and other retailers between Aug., 2011 and Oct., 2012.
