Dr Pepper Snapple Group Beats Quarterly Expectations

Dr Pepper Snapple Group Inc. has reported a $188 million profit for the third quarter.

The Plano-based company on Thursday said it had profit of 96 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for severance costs and non-recurring costs, were 98 cents per share.

The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 88 cents per share.

The maker of beverages such as 7Up, Sunkist and Mott's posted revenue of $1.58 billion in the period, which also beat Street forecasts. Analysts expected $1.54 billion.

Dr Pepper Snapple Group shares have risen 34 percent since the beginning of the year.
